Hi! I’m Kerry Smith, Mrs. Lady Wordsmith.
Welcome! You’re here to discover ways you can better educate yourself and your family. And you’re in the right place! MrsLadyWordsmith.com supports home-centered learning in a variety of ways.
We’re not about homeschooling, but we think homeschoolers are wonderful. My mission is to help parents to do their jobs at home where the most important education should take place. We set goals to support four areas for optimal well-being: spiritual, physical, intellectual, and social.
You’ll find instructional how-to’s for important life skills. Cleaning tips, grammar lessons to facilitate clearer communication, educational activities, as well as ideas and information to bolster life skills and your family’s needs.
I support family relationships by sharing fun ideas for traditions, recipes, celebrating the holidays, and encouraging strong marriages with ways to spend more time together.
I enjoy creating decorative and functional printables. Many of them are free, and since I’m bilingual, I also offer several of them in Spanish.
A few years ago, our family created a website in support of autism, which our oldest son was diagnosed with at an early age. He’s now a teen and wants to keep his autism life largely private. We understand, so the posts shared on our website are ones he has approved and which we feel are most beneficial to share.
On a professional level, I have a bachelor’s degree in English from Utah State University. I’m a former full-time editor and writer for the Ensign magazine. Here are links to three of my favorite articles I’ve written for the Ensign: Staying the Course, a news piece about my former alma mater, Ricks College, and a piece I wrote on behalf of the author listed. I’m also a contributor to Sugardoodle.net and DrChristyKane.com, a SEEK Retreat team member, and am the owner of UtahFamilyFunStuff.com, a local go-to for events, classes, camps, and family resources in the Greater Salt Lake City Area.
Thank you for joining me as we strengthen ourselves and families together. We can do this!
