Do you know the order of the books in the Book of Mormon? If you don’t, you can easily commit them to memory, which is so helpful when finding the books in hard copy. This free bookmark makes it easy to mark your spot in the Book of Mormon, a constant reminder of the books in order. Or you can place it in a spot, such as a bathroom mirror, where you’re likely to spot it as you work on memorization.
Books in the Book of Mormon Song
Of course, memorizing is so much easier if the information is set to music. Primary children of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints are often taught this catchy tune to help them remember the books in order.
But if you’re a new church member or didn’t happen to attend Primary, you might not have learned the song. And some music choristers don’t teach it. So take a little time to listen to it and learn or refresh your memory. If you play the piano, sheet music is also included in the link above.
Free Book of Mormon Bookmark
I on purpose kept this bookmark design simple. Before making it, I researched options already available online. The reason I chose this simple design is to mirror the look of the Book of Mormon. I used somewhat similar colors, and I designed it as something anyone of any age might use.
One thing I purposely avoided was cartoon characters. I found many Book of Mormon bookmarks that have them. I personally don’t care for cartoon illustrations when teaching real subject matter. The Book of Mormon and its accounts are real. The people discussed in its pages are real.
To small children, illustrated characters can be confused with fictional characters. After all, that’s what they often see on books or on television shows. Granted, a small child isn’t reading yet, but when they’re old enough to read the Book of Mormon, they should know without doubt that it’s real. And supplements used to help teach about this sacred scripture should look real too.
